It’s been just a fortnight since… Fortnite’s battle royale mode was released, but developer Epic games says that the battle royale title has been played by 10m people.

The firm released an infographic for the game (below), which says that 44,494,571 hours have been ploughed into Fornite.

Fortnite itself has only been played by seven million people.

That’s not the only exciting news, either. SteamSpy founder Sergey Galyonkin says that this might be one of the fastest-growing PC or console free-to-play games ever. The project has smashed the 10m player barrier faster than other free-to-play games like World of Tanks, League of Legends, DOTA 2 and Hearthstone.

Fortnite hasn’t been without its bad news. When Epic announced the project, it name-checked other battle royale hit Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds, which did not go well with the maker of that project making a public statement to that effect.
