Update:And it’s done it.

Brendan ‘Playerunknown’ Greene has taken to Twitter to announce the game has broken 2m concurrent users.

Original story: There seems to be no stopping Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds.

The Early Access battle royale title is fast closing in on two million concurrent players, with SteamCharts data showing that the game’s peak player count stands at 1,984,278 people. Incidentally, these users have racked up an insane 576,802,086 hours on PUBG, too.

This news follows shortly after the game became the title with the highest-concurrent player count on Steam, managing to beat previous record holder, Valve’s own MOBA DOTA 2.

To date, the game has sold 13m units at last official announcement, though that figure was announced more than a week ago, meaning it has likely sold close to another million copies during this time.

Creative director Brendan Greene has his sights set on 100m lifetime sales for his game, which is looking pretty likely at this point in time.
