The Fortnite Season 7 map changes have to be some of the biggest tweaks the game has seen in a while.
While smaller events have included Epic Games changing locations, today’s big update has created a whole new biome that has never been part of Fortnite before.
The Iceberg Biome now dominates the southern-west areas of the map, creating new points of interest to explore.
These new areas can be found dotted across the area, including Happy Hamlet, Frosty Flights and Polar Peak.
And the good news is that more areas of interest have been added that players will find while they are running around the new map.

These include the expedition outposts, which are outfitted with new Stormwing planes so players can now also take to the skies.
Because the new snow area is a special biome, there are now Icy Surfaces that can affect your player control, making you slide when you are trying to navigate.
Another big Season 7 map change is the new Ziplines, which can be found around the Iceberg and near Expedition Outposts.
As you might imagine, players can latch on and zip from one end to the other, the good news being that you can aim and fire while using them.
Another map change that has been made by Epic Games will only affect the final stages of a match.
It has been confirmed that the chances of final circles ending on the outer edges of the map has now been increased.
This should provide more variety when it comes to battling for the top spot and create new situations for players to build there way out of.
The Fortnite season 7 trailer also shows off new gameplay idea that will be able to experience on the new map.
This includes players being able to throw hockey pucks onto icy surfaces.
These pucks then slide about, meaning Fortnite season 7 players will be able to have a festive game of ice hockey.
Other changes are in snowy areas trees are decorated like Christmas trees – which might make players loathed to chop it down for wood. They look so nice!
Elsewhere, the Happy Hamlets new POI is showcased with buildings in the area looking like festive, Christmas grottos.

“This season, you get the Zenith and Lynx progressive outfits instantly when you purchase the Battle Pass, both of which can level-up to unlock new styles.
“We’ve also added a new cosmetic item type: Wraps! These allow you to customize your weapons and vehicles with all new looks to match and complement your favourite outfits.
“Battle Pass owners will also get early access to their own island in Creative: a brand new place for you to build your dream Fortnite with your friends.”
As mentioned above, Creative Mode is another bonus players can enjoy until December 13, at which point it will open up to all players.
The Season 7 Battle Pass is worth over 25,000 V-Bucks, according to Epic Games and will typically take 75 to 150 hours of play to fully unlock to Tier 100.
NEW FORTNITE SKINS
The new starter skins are far from Christmas-themed, with both Fortnite season 7 skins boasting a fearsome look once fully kitted out.
One of the season 7 starter skins Fortnite fans will get is the Lynx skin.

This is a legendary cosmetic which when fully kitted out features an all-black metallic suit that looks like a wildcat.
The description for the Fortnite Lynx skin says: “Who needs nine lives when one is enough? Part of the Lynx set.”
While the Fortnite Zenith skin – once the full set is unlocked – has a grey mask and visor as well as tactical suit for winter weather.
One other skin that will be appearing during Fortnite season 7 is the long lost onesie skin.
This skin was previously discovered in in-game files during season 6 by leakers before it got suddenly removed.
The Fortnite onesie skin then appeared in the Fortnite season 6 week 10 loading screen, which led to speculation it was getting added for season 7.
Elsewhere, the Fortnite season 7 Battle Pass tier 100 reward is the legendary The Ice King skin.
The description for it reads: “All hail the ruler of ice and snow. Part of the Ice Kingdom set”.
