UPDATE: Fortnite server downtime has just begun as Epic rolls out the latest Season 7 patch. Hyped up players are looking forward to new Battle Royale maps, new items and most importantly new cosmetics. And with this season’s heavily teased wintry theme, players could be in for a timely treat before Christmas. Servers officially went down today for the update starting at 9am UK time (4am EST and 1am PT).

Epic tweeted: “Iceberg, dead ahead! Downtime for the Season 7 update has begun.
“Bundle up with the Patch Notes to see what awaits.”
Based on past Fortnite season updates, the patch will likely take between one and two hours to complete.
Epic tweeted ahead of the update: “Stay frosty! Downtime for Season 7 begins December 6 at 4 AM ET (0900 UTC).”
And once the update rolls out, the Fortnite Season 7 Battle Pass should become purchasable.

Level up your Battle Pass during the 7.0 update for new skins by completing challenges or spending V-Bucks.
There are more than 100 rewards to collect, worth a grand total of 25,000 V-Bucks.
It will take you anywhere from 75 to 150 hours of gameplay to unlocks all reward tiers.
You will have the next 10 weeks to complete the Battle Pass before the next game season rolls out.

The new season is built around a wintry theme so you can expect snow gear, fur coats and alpine zip lines.
One new exciting update is the inclusion of zip lines to swiftly move around the new Battle Royale maps.
Epic said: “Season 7 has arrived with the smash of a mysterious iceberg!
“Winter has brought many changes to the Fortnite map for you to explore. Ziplines are a new way to help you travel to and from high terrain.
“For you chill and thrill seekers, the new Frosty Flights location and Expedition outposts are outfitted with the new Stormwing planes so you can take to the skies.

“There are tons of new areas to venture to and secrets to uncover, so stay frosty.”
Epic has also confirmed is the inclusion of a brand new sandbox mode dubbed Fortnite Creative.
The third game mode will let players bill their own levels and mini-games in a way which surely spice up the Battle Royale formula.
Creative Mode will be the third option after Save the World PVE and the massively popular PVP Battle Royale mode.
