LISTEN: Green New Deal, Lufthansa Sues and More on the TravelPulse Podcast
Listeners, rejoice! For the second time in as many weeks, travel expert Mark Murphy has delivered a fresh new edition of the TravelPulse Podcast right on schedule.
This week, the TravelPulse founder breaks down the Green New Deal’s potential impact on travel before sharing his thoughts on Lufthansa’s head-scratching decision to sue a passenger accused of using the “hidden city” hack.
“I think that’s just stupid. For the airlines as a whole, that’s ridiculous. If you’ve got such a wacky pricing system that somebody can get around it by doing something like that, you need to look at how you price things,” said Murphy. “If it doesn’t make any sense, don’t screw your customer because all you’re going to get out of this is bad publicity. There’s nothing good that comes of this. Are you going to sue every passenger who gets creative with how they book?”
“If you can get around the system, do it. There’s nothing wrong with that. And you know who can help you with that? A good, smart travel agent who books a lot of airline tickets,” he added.
Later, Murphy reveals why travelers are buzzing about the first all-inclusive resort in the Florida Keys, talks the new U.S. travel warning to Venezuela and shares an unbeatable travel deal in Jamaica that you can take advantage of right now.
