Kingdom Hearts 3 will be Square Enix’s next release on PS4 and Xbox One.
And unfortunately for many fans of the franchise, leaks have started to appear online.
It appears the street date for the game has been broken, and copies of it are now in the wild being played.
This is a serious problem for Square Enix as the game isn’t scheduled to hit shelves until January 2019.
The situation has prompted an official response from the publisher, with game director Tetsuya Nomura sharing his thoughts on the problem.
In a new statement, Nomura has requested that fans do not share the leaked footage online and wait for the full launch on PS4 and Xbox One.
And the good news is that the best stuff appears to be safe from being spoiled, as Square Enix has taken measures to make sure it won’t be shared until after the game is released.

“We’re aware that a small portion of Kingdom Hearts 3 has been circulating online before its official release date,” the message from Nomura reads.
“We are also aware as to how this has all happened. We’re sorry to see this caused concern amongst our fans who are excited for the release.
“The whole team has been working together since yesterday night (Japan time) to investigate what we can do to better this situation, but first we would like to ask that you do not share these videos.
“The game’s epilogue and secret movie, which are the biggest spoilers in this game, are planned to be released at a later date just in case, so they will not be shown before the game’s release.
“We want everyone to be able to equally experience the full game after its release, so we ask for your continued support on this matter.
“We’re also very grateful that our fans have been warning each other already about the spoilers. Thank you very much.”
Square Enix fans are still waiting for a major update on the upcoming release of the Final Fantasy 7 Remake project.
Fans are hopeful that something will be revealed during 2019, possibly tied in with any PS5 announcement being made by Sony.
And fans were dealt a shock when they checked their inbox earlier this month.
As revealed in a post on the FF7 Remake Reddit, the JRPG fan received an e-mail from Amazon about their pre-order of the Final Fantasy 7 Remake.
The e-mail explained that the online retailer is now expecting the Final Fantasy 7 Remake to be released on December 31 2019.
Responding to the post, one Redditor said: “Triple A games never get released on Dec. 31.
“It’s a placeholder date because they expect it to be within the year 2019. Maybe that does mean something.”

But as another Redditor explained: “In total, Amazon has listed it as it as December 31st, 2016, December 31st, 2017, and December 31st, 2018.
“(It may have also at one point had a December 31st, 2015 placeholder, but I never witnessed that).
“It is pretty much a certainty that date they’ve given…is not an actual release date, but again, Amazon’s new placeholder.
“It’s fairly unlikely at this point that Amazon will be the first place to reveal FF7R’s release announcement.”
In other Square Enix news Final Fantasy 7 Remake fans have seen another big event go by without an update.
Last week The Game Awards 2018 was held where – once again – there was no word on the Final Fantasy 7 Remake.
It comes as it’s been three years since Square Enix released the last Final Fantasy 7 Remake trailer.
That trailer was shown at PSX 2015 and revealed the first gameplay footage of the Final Fantasy 7 Remake.
