Avengers Infinity War theory: Is THIS real reason the Avengers lost? | Films | Entertainment |

They did all they could, but the Avengers couldn’t stop Thanos from successfully murdering half the universe. Now a new (and hilarious) theory claims the reason the Marvel superheroes lost in Avengers Infinity War was simply that they were pretty peckish. Reddit user Rpanich wrote: “Strange and Wong were talking about getting sandwiches at what looks to be about lunch time. Tony and Pepper were out and hanging out in a park, going somewhere, which being the same time, makes sense to be lunch as well.”

They continued: “Peter drove in from Queens on a bus, so he hasn’t had anything since breakfast.

“Thor steals food indicating he’s hungry, but only eats what I assume is the equivalent of freeze-dried aeroplane food.”

“Vision and Wanda just had an all day/night b*** session and went out, why?

“To get kebabs for dinner, which is why they ended up at that shop.”

The theorist added: “Other than Wanda and Vision, the other two groups do not get a chance to grab a bite until they fight Thanos, which is hours later.

“I know I don’t work at my best when I’m hungry.”

It’s a common blockbuster movie trope for characters not to stop for a bite to eat or to use the toilet when saving the world.

Certainly, the Avengers earned their shawarmas in the end credits scene of their first movie, just this time they were left with empty bellies – some of which are now dust.

Earlier this month the Avengers Endgame trailer was released.

Poor Tony Stark still hasn’t had a chance at a good square meal, since food and water have run out on the Guardians of the Galaxy’s ship.

But hopefully, even with the sudden arrival of Ant-Man, the Avengers will be able to get something to eat before heading into the Quantum Realm.

Avengers Endgame is released on April 26, 2019.
