Marvel movies 2019: What Marvel movies are coming out next year? | Films | Entertainment |

Marvel has been dominating the box office, Reddit forums and fan sites all throughout 2018. After Thanos’ snap which decimated more than half of the Avengers universe, fans have been desperate to find out how their favourites survive. Here are all the scheduled releases for 2019 from the super-hero powerhouse.

Captain Marvel

The hotly anticipated Captain Marvel solo movies comes out on March 8, 2019.

The film is being co-directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck and stars Brie Larson as Carol Danvers, aka Captain Marvel.

During an explosion, Danvers was injured and to revive her, Mar-Vell the Kree alien fused his DNA with hers.

The accident and subsequent attempts by Mar-Vell to save Danvers’ life resulted in her gaining superhuman powers.

Avengers: Endgame

Avengers: Endgame comes out in cinemas in the UK on May 3, 2019.

The trailer was only recently released to the delight of fans.

What little details we know are pulled from the aforementioned teaser, and reads: “Adrift in space with no food or water, Tony Stark sends a message to Pepper Potts as his oxygen supply starts to dwindle.

“Meanwhile, the remaining Avengers — Thor, Black Widow, Captain America and Bruce Banner — must figure out a way to bring back their vanquished allies for an epic showdown with Thanos — the evil demigod who decimated the planet and the universe.”

The next instalment in the X-Men series comes out on June 7, 2019, from director Simon Kinberg and stars Sophie Turner as a young Jean Grey.

The plot synopsis reads: “The X-Men face their most formidable and powerful foe when one of their own, Jean Grey, starts to spiral out of control.

“During a rescue mission in outer space, Jean is nearly killed when she’s hit by a mysterious cosmic force.

“Once she returns home, this force not only makes her infinitely more powerful but far more unstable.

“The X-Men must now band together to save her soul and battle aliens that want to use Grey’s new abilities to rule the galaxy.”

Spider-Man: Far From Home

The second Spider-Man movie starring Tom Holland as Peter Parker is out on July 5, 2019.

Little is known about the film, besides it takes place during Peter Parker’s school trip to Europe.

While in Europe, Spidey teams up with Mysterio (Jake Gyllenhaal) to battle the Elementals.

Fans are more than excited for the Spider-Man sequel, especially as the franchise has been reinvigorated by the animated Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse movie.

The New Mutants

Magik, Wolfsbane and other teenage mutants try to come to grips with their superpowers while staying at a secret facility.

The X-Men sequel comes out on August 2, 2019, and stars Anya Taylor-Joy, Maisie Williams, Charlie Heaton, Henry Zaga, Blu Hunt, and Alice Braga.

Josh Boone is set to direct, having adapted the story into his own comic-book with Knate Lee using panels the original New Mutants.

The New Mutants is rumoured to be part of a trilogy, but no other sequels have been confirmed as of yet.
