The reports of a new Diablo just won’t quit. Following a fairly vague job post last year, a new job listing on Blizzard’s official site has confirmed that development of a new, unannounced Diablo project is underway.
The job in question is for none other than a ‘Dungeon Artist, Diablo’. They need you, apparently, because “the minions of Hell are growing stronger…”. In the job post, Blizzard confirms it’s working on a new, unannounced Diablo project, ruling out the possibility that this is a remaster and instead fuelling reports of Diablo 4.
Whoever gets the role will help to “build something exceptional”. They’ll be tasked with modeling and texturing compelling assets, have a strong grasp of form, colour and light, and be able to showcase the ability to concept, model, and texture their designs. The ideal candidate won’t just be a great artist either, they’ve also got to be passionate about the “dark gothic world of Diablo”. Kind of a given really, I mean who isn’t?
Anyway, regardless of the job, it now appears as if Blizzard has been working on something Diablo-related for quite a while now. With dungeon art still to be done, there’s clearly a stretch of the project left, but Diablo 4 is almost assuredly coming.
