Ubisoft has announced a season pass for The Crew 2 and revealed its plans for free post-launch content. Developer Ivory Tower will be going the Rainbow Six: Siege route with its content, offering season pass owners seven days early access to new cars before providing them for free to all player one week later.

The Crew 2 will receive regular updates, including two vehicles each and every month, as well as one new racing disciplines and a major new game feature every three months.

The Season Pass for The Crew 2 will set players back $39.99. It allows racing fans to add the vehicles to their collections seven days before everybody else, as well as access to three exclusive vehicles on day one. If you’re the patient sort though, you’ll eventually get access to everything bar the three launch vehicles.

Looking a little further afield, every three months there’s going to be a major update; the equivalent of a new season. The first live update for The Crew 2 is going to be Gator Rush, adding in a new hovercraft racing discipline as well as a new loot rarity system. In the trailer above the hovercraft racing actually looks pretty awesome, cruising through the Everglades as well as hitting the roads and weaving through traffic.

Later in the year, the Winter 2018 update adds a PvP mode to The Crew 2. Sadly, it seems as if there’s going to be no official PvP mode in The Crew 2 at launch, and fans are going to have to wait six months to definitively find out who’s the better racer.

That’s all we know for now but, depending on The Crew 2’s success, Ubisoft has a content roadmap stretching for at least nine months, possibly even longer if it can find a regular audience. They’ve done it with Siege, they’ve done it with For Honor, now it’s time to find out whether they can repeat the same trick with The Crew 2.

The Crew 2 is out on June 29th for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
