Introducing Intel’s 10th Gen Comet Lake Core i9-10900KF Processor Through a Timely Leak
One has to wonder, really, at what makes a leak a leak. The latest news on Intel’s forthcoming line of Comet Lake processors is more than likely the result of a careful marketing campaign rather than a shocking reveal to the internet by a plucky guerrilla investigator or disgruntled employee. Nevertheless, it’s always welcome news to gamers when we get to see the numbers grow on our desirable hardware.
These new i9-10900KF chips have native DDR4-3200 support and the 14nm+++ lithography certainly has more +es than the previous generation. With impressive boosts on all cores as well, the i9-10900KF looks like an obvious next step for CPU geeks. Of course, there’s no release date yet, such is the case with leaks, but we’ll take whatever we can, and they know that!
Lets look at the line up and see how the new range of Comet Lake CPUs will compare to one another.

|Memory Support Core i5,i7,i9||2 channels DDR4 3200|
The new 10th Gen will require a new LGA 1159 socket to be found on new Z490 motherboards. So as is usual for new generation Intel processors, gamers looking to get in will normally be doing so with a completely new rig.
With their 10th Generation Comet Lake price entry point at $129 for the i3-10100, it looks like this generation will completely replace the existing 9th Generation CPUs. Obviously we will all be looking hungrily at the Core i9-10900KF, priced at the $499, wondering what gaming would feel like with 10/20 Cores/Threads running at 4.6GHz across all cores.
This will be going up against the new AMD Ryzen 9 3950X, which will be along in September. So lets see how Intel’s Core i9-10900KF compares versus AMD’s Ryzen 9 3950X.
|CPU||Release||Base Clock||Turbo All CPUs||Cores / Thread||TDP||Price|
|Intel Core i9-10900KF||Unknown||3.4GHz||4.6GHz||10/20||105W||$499|
|AMD Ryzen 9 3950X||Sept 2019||3.5GHz||4.7GHz||16/32||105W||$749|
Now obviously its not as simple as comparing like for like here when we look at these two processor giants. as Intel and AMD use different processing architecture. But on the whole it gives us something to consider.
What do you guys make of those then. Obviously we have our report coming later regarding the newly available AMD Ryzen processors, but it would look like this “leak” would appropriately have Intel refocus our attention away from those new AMD chips and get us thinking about what Intel has coming.
