When a giant publisher like Take-Two Interactive snapped up the rights to Kerbal Space Program in 2017 it was pretty evident it wasn’t going to be content sitting back and soaking up a steady drip of Kerbal sales. Fast forward two years and we have Take-Two’s true goal, the announcement of Kerbal Space Program 2.

Take-Two’s Private Division is operating on a two-pronged push of making KSP2 both friendlier to newcomers yet even more complex and involving for seasoned veterans. Kerbal 2 has been redesigned from the ground up (like all good spacecraft) to improve onboarding for new players with revamped tutorials and UI, while next-generation building components and the ability to build space colonies and engage in interstellar travel opens the door to some head-scratching depth.

“KSP has always been about pushing the boundaries of innovation and creativity, and with Kerbal Space Program 2 we take that premise even further,” said Nate Simpson, creative director at Star Theory.

“We are introducing several new ways for players to challenge themselves, including new physics puzzles to solve, new planetary destinations to conquer, and new ways to advance their own deep-space program. This continues to be a game about exploration, imagination, and understanding rocket physics – with plenty of wild crashes along the way.”

Kerbal Space Program 2 is currently charted to land on Earth via Steam in Spring 2020, with a console launch to follow later in the year. They’re going the whole hog with this one though, this ain’t no budget release, setting you back a cool 60 bucks.
