They’ve kept us waiting until the damn game is only five weeks away but 2K Sports have finally unleashed the first gameplay footage from the upcoming NBA 2K20.
I’m going to have to plunge into my shallow pool of NBA knowledge here because I don’t believe Michael Jordon and Shaquille O’Neal are going to cut it. Ahem. We’ve got cover star Anthony Davis, of course, as well as ball bouncing superstars like Kevin Durant, Kemba Walker, Kawhi Leonard, Kyrie Irving, Zion Williamson, and Russell Westbrook.
And let me tell you, if you’re into ultra-detailed sweat rendered on 7-foot men’s bulging bodies then you are in for such a treat. It looks spot on, to be honest, and certainly the finest we’ve seen this series looking. There’s a ton of nice visual flourishes that put NBA 2K20 a cut above the other sports franchises out there.
NBA 2K20 is shooting a three-point on September 6th, 2019, for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. Let’s hope they’ve reined in the heinous in-game advertising and grind-beating in-game purchases, although we won’t be holding our breath.
