In case you missed it, Pro Evolution Soccer is now calling itself聽eFootball PES 2020聽for this year’s release. Konami have signed up Manchester United to appear in all its new season glory, but unfortunately the Liverpool (who you may have noticed won the European Championship this year) contract was ended. This Konami-Liverpool contract came to its natural end on Sunday 30th June.

This has the knock on effect of stopping official PES esports competitions, being held around the world, from including the Liverpool team in the public matches. Konami have also said for those of us who own a personal copy of PES 2019, you dont have to worry, you can continue to use Liverpool in your games as the licence Konami signed back in 2016 covered that.

This then leads on to the fact that PES 2019 has been unceremoniously removed from PS Plus subscribers game list. This was meant to be available as a free to download game on 3rd July, but perhaps there is a connection with the contract situation between Liverpool and Konami that Sony want to see ironed out first, before letting everyone download a game with a now unlicensed major British football team in it.

We mentioned before that at the end of this month, July for those of you reading this in the future, has an eFootball PES 2020 demo scheduled for PC and consoles to look forward to. And it seems like the PES 2020 demo will be expanded beyond the usual demo this year, to further help push the newly named eFootball PES 2020 into our harddrives.

eFootball PES 2020鈥檚 PC, Xbox One, and PS4 versions scheduled for kick off on September 10th 2019.
